Important information, please read carefully

Please note that HairSkin,® models are prepared with skin samples obtained with the informed consent of donors and in compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki and all other applicable regulations.

Every kit contains:

  • The ordered amount of models, which are placed in individual inserts in a 12-well plate. The plate is then loaded in a transport plate covered by a lid. Every skin biopsy is firmly maintained in our proprietary matrix within the insert.
  • The required volume of culture medium to maintain the biopsies alive (storage 4°C).
  • A QA/QC lot release certificate with donor information (age, gender, skin type, anatomical site).

Model Information

HairSkin® models are created using discarded tissue from facial lift surgeries, which may result in noticeable redness in the skin.

These models contain mature hair follicles and can be maintained in culture for up to 7 days. However, hair follicle viability begins to decline significantly after day 3.

On average, the occipital scalp features a hair follicle density of 65 to 85 follicles per cm², reflecting the natural variability in human tissue.

Donor Information

Genoskin’s network of hospitals and surgeons allows us to access different types of donors. For our HairSkin® models, 94% of donors are women, aged 29 to 82, with an average age of 62.

Multiple Donors:

Genoskin’s network of hospitals and surgeons allows us to access many skin tissues per week, however, facial lift remains a less common procedure. Should you need multiple donors for your experiment, please note that there might be a delay between each donor.

Delivery:

HairSkin® models are supplied as ready-to-use kits. They are packed in a specifically designed box that can be shipped by express airfreight. The box is thermally insulated and shock-resistant.
While ordering, you will be able to select a preferred week of delivery. The Genoskin production team works hard to respect your selection. However, productions may be rescheduled to the following week depending on surgery schedules and sample quality.

Note that your HairSkin® models may arrive at your facility from Monday to Friday for laboratories in Europe and Asia. Models delivered on Mondays are produced the previous Friday.

The expected delivery day will be communicated at least 48 hours in advance to your team.

Cancellation Policy:

Modifications to orders can only be accepted within 24 hours of placement and will incur a 10% fee.

HairSkin® orders are not eligible for cancellation. Please note that if you are not able to receive the skin models as scheduled, you will still be invoiced.
